FAQ
How many games do you have available to play in R-CADE?
We have on average 20 video game consoles from Atari, Nintendo, Sega, Playstation, and Xbox, all ready to play with a games catalogue of over 2000 games to request while you are in our arcade. Our games list is available to view in the main menu. Some of our games have age restrictions and we cannot allow older rated games to be played during our all ages sessions.
We can only offer such games as Gutiar Hero and DDR for special events and private parties. These games are not available during standard game sessions.
We do not have any traditional arcades or pinball machines.
Do I need to bring tokens or coins to play any games?
No. Our arcade is not your typical venue. We do not have standard arcade machines. What we have instead is a collection of home consoles from the past 40 years, lovingly restored and presented in our custom made cabinets to offer that arcade vibe. During your visit you simply pick up and play as many games as you like!
Please note that R-CADE is a cashless venue. We only accept card payments online and in store for all purchases.
Are kids allowed in R-CADE?
Everyone is welcome during our all ages sessions. Children under 8 must be accompanied by a paying adult in the arcade. Children aged 8 - 11 must have an adult on the premises with them. And children aged 12 and over are allowed to play themselves (we ask that anyone under 18 has an ICE contact number on them).
After 7pm the venue is strictly over 18's only due to the nature of the events taking place. ID may be required.
How long can I play for?
We offer hourly sessions throughout the day. You must pre-book your pass at least 30 minutes before the next session begins to be able to play. Please note that you are purchasing a specific session, not an amount of time to play. If you arrive half way through your session time you will forfeit any missed time.
Multiple hours can be booked for longer game sessions if you wish. Simply book each session individually and use the same name.
Can I book a party at R-CADE?
Yes, we offer our space for private bookings. We have a page detailing our party packages and prices HERE
Please note that we only allow birthday parties for gamers aged 8 and up.
You can hire our space for any celebration, meetup, game event or even filming projects. Get in touch if you would like to use our space for your next project.
What is the current maximum capacity?
Right now our maximum capacity in the arcade is 16 players (not including staff). Our café area can house a total of 10 - 15 patrons to maintain full accessibility.
Are pets allowed in R-CADE?
Unfortunately without apposable thumbs pets are terrible at playing video games so we cannot allow them into the arcade area. However you are more than welcome to bring your furry friends into our café to hang out for as long as you like.
Is R-CADE wheelchair accessible?
Yes. We are a street level venue and we have designed both the arcade and café with wheelchairs in mind, this included power chairs. We also have a fully accessible bathroom for patrons to use too.
Where is R-CADE and where to park?
Our address is 121 Saltmarket, which is just across the road from our old venue. We are directly across the road from Pop Yum. You can travel by train to Argyle Street or High Street station, or subway to St Enoch.
If you are travelling by car we suggest never parking on Saltmarket as parking prices are quite high and there are restrictions between 4 and 6pm.

Alternative parking is available on Steel Street, Turnbull Street or King Street NCP car park.
Do you have a bar / are you licenced?
We are not licenced to sell alcohol and do not have the facilities to serve booze.
Before 7pm we are an all ages venue and do not allow the consumption of alcohol whilst open to the public.
After 7pm we are strictly over 18's only and patrons are allowed to bring their own drinks (BYOB). A corkage charge is levied against all drinks and customers must declare all drinks when they arrive.

We do, simply click on Gift Cards in the main menu and fill in the details for yourself or the person you wish to send a digital card to.
Please note that gift cards can only be used online to book passes or tickets for events. They cannot be used in store or in the cafe.
What are the payment options?
We are a cashless store but we do accept all contactless and chip + pin payment methods when you come to visit us.

When booking online we accept all major cards through our payment processor Square and we also accept PayPal.
Do you buy or sell video games?
In the past, we did buy and sell consoles and handhelds, games, however due to lack of space in our venue we no longer sell retro gaming items. We may reopen our retail area in the future.
Can I rent out some of your equipment?
Absolutely! We have a range of packages that can work for your next event.
Whether it's a small arrangement of screens to demo some retro video games, or a room chock full of games and consoles from the last 40 years, we have worked with conventions, hotels, schools, and even wedding parties. Drop us an email with all the details to see if we can help!
Do I need to pay to play the boardgames?
We have over 250 boardgames, card games and tabletop games in our cafe area, suitable for all ages and group types. We charge a £3 fee for everyone aged 12 and up to access our tabletop games, but once you pay you can play as many games as you like for as long as you like. Please note that we do have a fair usage policy in our cafe, we ask that you buy from our cafe menu if you are playing for an extended time. You can view our full menu here.
Can I make a reservation for the cafe?
We do not currently take reservations for our cafe area. Our cafe tables work on a first come, first served basis. We are typically busiest on the weekends between 12 and 4pm.
